Ten Dhikr Every Muslim Should Know

Bismillah.

1. “Alhamdulillah fills the scale” - Muslim #223; “the most excellent du’a” - at-Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah, al-Hakim graded it sahih and add-Dhahabi agreed, Sahih al-Jami as-Saghir #362.

2. “Alhamdulillah and Subhan Allah fills up what is between the heavens and the earth” - Sahih Muslim #223.

3. “La ilaha illallah, “the most excellent words of dhikr" (There is none worthy of worship except Allah) - at-Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah, al-Hakim graded it sahih and add-Dhahabi agreed, Sahih al-Jami as-Saghir #362.

4. “Very easy on the tongue but heavy on the scale, Subhan Allah wa bihamdihi” (Glorified is Allah and praised is He) - Sahih al-Bukhari #7563, “one hundred times a day will have his sins forgiven, even if they are as abundant as the foam on the sea” - al-Muwatta, bk.15, #21.

5. "Subhan Allahul Adhim” (Glorified is Allah the Greatest) - Sahih al-Bukhari #7563.

6. “La haul wala quwwata illa billah, “one of the treasures of Paradise” - Sahih al-Bukhari #6384

7. “La ilaha illallah wa Subhan Allahi wa Allahu Akbar wal hamdulillah wa Laa Huwla wala quwwata illah billah (There is none worthy of worship except Allah, Glory be to Allah, Allah is the Greatest, Praise be to Allah, there is no power or strength except with Allah) - Sunan an-Nasa’i #924, Ibn Hibban and al-Hakim graded it sahih.

8. Dearer to the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) than all that the sun rises upon, Subhan Allah walhamdu ilahi wala ilaha illallah wallah akbar (Glory is to Allah, praise is to Allah, there is none worthy of worship but Allah, and Allah is the greatest) - Sahih Muslim #2695

9. “Allahummaghfir-li warhamni wahdini wa afini warzuqni (O Allah forgive me, and have mercy on me and guide me, and give me good health and provide for me) - Muslim #2697a, 2697b; Sunan Abi Dawud #850.

10. “La ilaha illallah wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul mülkü wa lahul hamdu, wa huwa ala külli shay’in qadir (There is none worthy of worship except Allah alone without any partner, the kingdom and praise belong to Him and He has power over everything) - al-Muwatta, bk.15, #20; Sahih al-Bukhari #1797; Sunan an-Nasa’i #2985.
