Five Hadith to Guide Our Daily Life

Bismillah.
  1. Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said, “Allah the Almighty is good and only accepts what is good.” [Sahih Muslim, no.1015; an-Nawawi’s Forty Hadith, no.10]
  • In Islam the ends do not justify the means. If a person does not do a deed for the sake of Allah, then it is not acceptable to Allah, no matter how good or beneficial the deed is.
  • This Hadith also reminds us that if a deed has some evil in it, it is not acceptable to Allah. Like people who do evil to people who have done evil towards them.
  1. Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said, “None of you truly believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself.” [Sahih al-Bukhari, no.13; Sahih Muslim, no.45b; an-Nawawi’s Forty Hadith, no.13]

  1. The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said, “Fear Allah wherever you are, follow up an evil deed with a good one and it will wipe it out, and behave towards people in an upright manner.” [Jami at-Tirmidhi, no.1987; an-Nawawi’s Forty Hadith, no.18]

  1. This is the advice our beloved Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) gave to Abdullah ibn Abbas, "Be mindful of Allah and Allah will protect you. Be mindful of Allah and you will find Him in front of you. If you ask, then ask Allah alone; and if you seek help, then seek help from Allah alone. And know that if the nation were to gather together to benefit you with anything, they would not benefit you except with what Allah had already prescribed for you. And if they were to gather together to harm you with anything, they would not harm you except with what Allah had already prescribed against you. The pens have been lifted and the pages have dried.” [Jami at-Tirmidhi, no.2516; an-Nawawi’s Forty Hadith, no.19]

  1. Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said, "Whosoever of you sees an evil, let him change it with his hand; and if he is not able to do so, then let him change it with his tongue; and if he is not able to do so, then with his heart — and that is the weakest of faith.” [Sahih Muslim, no.49a; an-Nawawi’s Forty Hadith, no.34]
